A Sparta man allegedly threatened to kill the occupants of a Cookeville apartment unit early Friday morning.
Cookeville Police charged Jaqualn Tyler Prater with aggravated assault. He’s behind bars at the Putnam County Jail on $35,000 bond.
An arrest warrant accuses Prater of entering the apartment without permission and threatening to kill someone inside. He allegedly displayed a black semi-auto firearm during the incident.
Police came in contact with Prater when they responded to the North Dixie Avenue complex. The warrant said he still had possession of the firearm when police arrived on scene.
