Majority Of TTU Classes Return In-Person This Fall

About 80 percent of Tennessee Tech’s undergraduate classes will be in-person this fall.

President Phil Oldham said class capacities will be limited, but more sections will be offered to make room for students.

“We are planning for continued reduced capacity in the classrooms, because we don’t know exactly yet what we are going to be facing,” Oldham said. “But with additional in-person sections added to accommodate more on ground classes. So the bottom line is our class size will probably be a little smaller than normal.”

Oldham said the university is still in the planning stage, but fully anticipates a normal school year. Oldham said varsity and intramural sports are also expected to return to normal schedules, as well.

“Most students have made it clear that they want to be back in the classroom in a normal fashion,” Oldham said. “Students want to know and interact in-person with there professors. They want to meet and develop friendships with their classmates.”
