Crews have restored a majority of power to Overton County residents and businesses.
Straight line winds knocked out power to thousands of customers Friday night.
Overton/Pickett EMA Director Chris Masiongale said Saturday morning that most power was restored between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m.
The storm downed at least 48 tress across area roadways. Masiongale said Overton County Highway Department crews worked throughout the night to reopen the roads.
“To my knowledge, everything is open at this time,” Masiongale said. “People still need to be cautious as many trees fell after the storm passed.”
No injuries were reported from the system that moved through the county Friday evening.
