Mahan, Nabors Stepping Down As Principals

Putnam County Principals Rhonda Mahan and Tracy Nabors are retiring after 34 years of service each to the school system.

Mahan has spent the past four years as principal at Cane Creek Elementary. Nabors has served 12 years at Sycamore Elementary. Both will step down at the end of this month.

Director Of Schools Corby King said each has touched the lives of thousands of Putnam County students. King said the process will begin immediately to fill the two positions.

“It is special to me that I started Sycamore Elementary School at five years old and am ending my career at the same place I began,” Nabors said.

Mahan said she plans to work with aspiring teachers at Tennessee Tech.
