A Macon County man has landed behind bars after he allegedly fired shots towards law enforcement officers Wednesday night.
Authorities said the incident happened on Elzie Williams Road.
According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, officers responded to the home after 63-year-old Jack David Hutchinson allegedly punched his daughter-in-law and fired a handgun into the floor.
When officers arrived on scene Hutchinson appeared from a shed and fired shots in their direction, according to the TBI’s press release. Officers returned fire but did not strike Hutchinson. They managed to subdue Hutchinson with a stun gun and subsequently brought him into custody.
He’s under $450,000 bond and is charged with two counts of criminal attempt to commit first degree murder and one count of domestic assault.
