Celina has a new mayor and board of aldermen after Tuesday’s city election.
Luke Collins will take over as mayor with 55 percent of the vote outpacing Micheal Boles who received 30 percent. Incumbent Tonya Spears finished in third with 14 percent.
Making up the Board of Aldermen will be Justin “Rooney” Rich 25 percent, Lester Kenny Westmoreland 21 percent and Winton Dillon with 19 percent. Dawn Dale finished closely in fourth with 17 percent followed by Ron Haston 12 percent and Jennings “Trader” Hill with 3 percent.
A total of 431 registered voters out of 988 participated with 165 casting on Election Day.
The total results for the mayor election are as followed:
Luke M. Collins- 55.45%, 239 votes
Micheal E. Boles- 30.39%, 131 votes
Incumbent, Tonya Spears- 14.15% 61 votes
The total results for the board of aldermen election are as followed:
Justin “Rooney” Rich- 25.93%, 258 votes
Lester Kenny Westmoreland- 21.11%, 210 votes
Winton Dillon- 19.80%, 197 votes
Dawn Dale- 17.39%, 173
Ron Haston- 12.56%, 125
Jennings “Trader” Hill- 3.02%, 30 votes
