Lots Of People Make The Putnam Fair Happen

Putnam County Fair Board President John Allen said a lot of people did a lot of work to make the fair happen

“62 people that have some piece of the fair, that help deliver the fair, in addition to 447 volunteers,” Allen said.

The fair opens Thursday and continues through Saturday, Aug. 12.

The fair board and volunteers will continue working through the week. After the fair ends, they’ll continue work on the 2018 edition of the fair.

“We have next year’s logo, we have next year’s theme, we’ll actually have it up here, we’ve already decided most of the motorsports we’ll have next year, we’re looking for a replacement for monster trucks, but we’re already into next year’s planning,” Allen said.

Allen said the fair brings more than $1 million into the local economy each year.
