The Monterey Lions Club Disaster Response Team is in need of volunteers.
A total of nine people are helping the organization cleanup debris left behind from Saturday’s storm system.
Director Ken Hall said his crew began assisting with recovery efforts at about 4 a.m. Sunday. Workers spent much of Sunday afternoon working in the area of Hudgens and East Spring Street in Cookeville.
Hall said he received lots of reports of damage in Monterey, Harriman, and Cumberland County’s Cumberland Cove area.
Hall said the organization will need more volunteers in order to respond to more requests for assistance.
Anyone who wants to volunteer can contact Ken Hall at 931-239-3318.
