Livingston Receives Bids For New Ball Park Scoreboards

Bids for new scoreboards at Livingston’s ballpark have come back significantly under budget.

Mayor Curtis Hayes said the city had originally budgeted some $12,000 to replace the current scoreboards. He said the low bid opened on Monday was for just over $7,000.

“Our scoreboards, we have not had a new scoreboard in about 15 years,” Hayes said. “So ours was starting to become obsolete. Hard to find parts for them.”

Hayes said the leftover money will be rolled over into next year’s budget. He said the city will explore looking at other equipment upgrades such as more new scoreboards.

Hayes said the Board of Aldermen will consider approving the bid at its next monthly meeting. He said then it will just be a matter of when the company can get to Livingston to install the new board.

“Like we always say, we’re always looking for ways that we can improve the city of Livingston and the things we have to offer our community,” Hayes said.
