Two shelters have been opened to serve residents of Overton County dealing with power outages.
Livingston First Baptist Church and First Christian Church have been opened as the shelters in Livingston.
The shelter is available to anyone who is without power and in need of a place to stay warm. Overton County Executive Ben Danner declared a state of emergency Tuesday morning because of power outages across the county. It could take several days to restore power in Overton County where lines and trees collected more than one inch of ice Monday.
First Baptist Church is located at 708 East Main Street in downtown Livingston. First Christian Church is located at 320 Oakley Street.
Emergency Management will transport you to the shelter if you need assistance and do not have a way.
The county is working to open several other shelters Tuesday, including one in the Rickman or Allons area.
