Livingston City Pool Set To Reopen For Memorial Day After Long Closure

The Livingston City Pool will reopen on Memorial Day after a long year with less recreation in the city.

Mayor Curtis Hayes said reopening is possible thanks to the vaccine rollout during the cold season.

“Get our swimming pool back up and going, I think it’s important that kids have social events as much as adults do,” Hayes said. “I just think this is a step moving forward.”

Hayes said the closure did provide a good opportunity to get renovations accomplished. Hayes said there was work done to the pool itself, the concessions area and the city pool restrooms.

“Just had a good opportunity to do that and we were able to make that successful,” Hayes said. “And look forward for visitors coming out and enjoying the nicely redone, renovations to our city pool.”

Last year Livingston addressed needs for a new roof for the concession stand and restrooms. Other repairs that were deemed necessary included fixing leaks in the big pool and the little pool, and replacing the lower diving board and lifeguard chairs.
