Livingston Chase Suspects Jailed, DUI Charges

Two suspects booked into the Overton County Jail Friday after taking police on a chase from Algood to Livingston Thursday night.

The names of the suspects have not been released, but the driver was a male in his 30s from Nashville. The passenger is a White County female in her 20s. Both were intoxicated, according to Livingston Police.

The driver being charged with Evading Arrest, 5 Counts of Reckless Endangerment with a Vehicle, and DUI. The passenger faces a DUI by allowance charge and Public Intoxication.

The suspect vehicle had two (2) occupants. The driver was a male in his early 30s from Nashville with previous history of evading arrest. The passenger was a female in her 20s from White County. Both occupants appeared to be intoxicated and were transported to Livingston Regional Hospital by Overton County EMS for evaluation.

A Livingston Police Sergeant suffered minor injuries when the suspect vehicle crossed two lanes of traffic and t-boned his cruiser in the door.

“I want to commend Sgt. Barlow and the other LPD officers who quickly responded to this incident and assisted in apprehending these dangerous subjects. We are extremely proud of our brave officers who acted swiftly and professionally in response to this call,” Livingston Police Chief Ray Smith said.
