Cookeville City Council will consider approving a proposal submitted to the Leisure Services Department for a pedestrian bridge in Dogwood Park.
Leisure Services Director Rick Woods told city officials Monday the department received one proposal late last week.
“We are still evaluating that proposal,” Woods said. “I don’t have the recommendation for you today. We are doing some reference checks and doing some evaluation… They’ve done similar projects in Nolensville and Ashland City in the past year.”
The lone proposal submitted to Leisure Services was by Adams Contracting in Lexington, Kentucky. Woods said he has reached out to the owner but was unable to contact him Friday or Monday.
“There is a price associated with [the project] and that’s one of the things we’re going to clarify with them,” Woods said. “The max price on this, the way it was submitted, was $127,000.”
Council will decide on the proposal during Thursday’s meeting beginning at 5:30 p.m. In the meantime, Woods said he will have more information available to present to council.
