The Cookeville-Putnam County Chamber of Commerce is now taking applications for its Leadership Putnam Program for the 2025 year.
The program is an eight-day class designed to bring leaders across the county to learn about different areas in Putnam County. President & CEO of the Cookeville-Putnam County Chamber of Commerce Amy New said former participants have had a positive impact on Putnam County.
“The Leadership Putnam Program has done some incredible things for this community,” New said. “Not only to help build the network, we have seen businesses that are created through partnerships and networks that were made throughout this leadership Putnam class.”
In 1990 the Leadership Putnam Program was created. New said the program provides networking opportunities for diverse leaders.
“You are also building a network of like I said 20 to 30 more people that are also looking to be leaders and engaged not only civically but also through our human needs and services as well,” New said. “So we feel like it’s great to learn more about the community while building your network.”
New said the class is for industry leaders in Putnam County.
“We encourage a diverse group of people to be a part of this,” New said. “There’s not just one group it could be someone who is just getting into the workforce, it could be someone who is retired from the workforce, or someone in between.”
Participants will talk with non-profits and do volunteer work as part of the program. To apply for the program visit the Cookeville Chamber of Commerce website. The deadline for applications is June 20th.
