Last Day For Voting Registration Monday

If you are not registered to vote for the November election, Monday is the deadline.

White County Election Administrator Dorcas Marcum said registration forms will not be processed after Monday.

“You have to be a United States citizen, you cannot have a felony-you have to answer all of those questions,” Marcum said. “[You must be a] resident of the state of Tennessee, you need to be 18 before election day, and you will need to have your social security number and birth date.”

A Tennessee or federal issued photo I.D. will also be required to fill the registration form. Marcum said the whole process should take about five minutes.

“We always mail our [voter] cards,” Marcum said. “If you come in and vote we are not going to give you your card, your voter card, immediately. We always mail that so you’ll be getting your voter card sometime later in the week.”
