Lake Tansi Man To Serve Three Years For Attempted Robbery

A judge has sentenced a Lake Tansi man to serve three years in prison for attempting to rob a man last year.

50-year-old Kenneth Wayne Spivey recently pleaded guilty to attempted aggravated robbery.

According to Cumberland County authorities, Spivey entered a Tansi Beach restroom in September wearing a law enforcement badge and carrying a handgun. A report states that Spivey ordered the victim to show identification and demanded his wallet.

The victim managed to flee the scene and law enforcement eventually located and arrested Spivey.

He’s received credit for 220 days already served.
