KY Governor Urges Residents Not To Visit Tennessee

Kentucky’s governor urged residents to end unnecessary travel to Tennessee.

Governor Andy Beshear said residents should not travel to Tennessee to take advantage of services closed in Kentucky. Thursday, Beshear closed all non-essential services.

“If you ultimately go down, over that border, and go to a restaurant or something that’s not open in Kentucky, what you do is you bring back the coronavirus here in Kentucky,” Beshear said. “And again, the sacrifices people inside your county are making, ultimately, you don’t honor by doing that.”

Beshear said Tennessee is not doing enough to protect citizens. The governor said Kentuckians living across the Tennessee border should only do so for work, groceries or to help people.

“I cannot control that Tennessee has not taken the steps that we have,” Beshear said.
