Kitchen Fire Reported At Putnam Co. Juvenile Detention Center Wednesday

Cookeville firefighters responded to a fire at the county juvenile detention center Wednesday night.

Officials said the fire started when a lunch box caught fire on top of a stove. Sheriff Eddie Farris said the stove setting appeared to be off and it’s believed that a wiring issue caused the fire.

Crews managed to isolate the fire to the kitchen area and no injuries were reported.
