Karl Dean Wins Democratic Primary for Governor

Former Nashville Mayor Karl Dean is the winner of the democratic primary race for governor of Tennessee.

The race was called with only two percent of votes received from across the state. Dean defeated fellow candidates Craig Fitzhugh and Mezianne Vale Payne in the primary.

Dean served as Nashville’s mayor for two terms from 2007 to 2015.
