Jury Duty Scam Reported In Putnam County

Several Putnam County residents have reported receiving phone calls from someone alleging to be Sheriff Eddie Farris.

According to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, the caller requests money and says they have an arrest warrant for the person missing jury duty.

Sheriff’s Office officials said the agency will never call and request money or advise you of an arrest warrant for missing jury duty.

The public should not acknowledge the calls and never send money or personal information to anyone over the phone or via text.
