Jordi To Be Held In Minnesota For Up To 60 Days

A man accused of killing his father in Sparta last month will be held in Minnesota’s Blue Earth County Jail for at least another 60 days.

21-year-old Joshua Jordi appeared in Blue Earth County Court Tuesday for an extradition hearing.

Jordi faces first-degree murder charges in the death of his father Timothy Jordi March 8th. Jordi allegedly stabbed his father to death inside Timothy Jordi’s Sparta home.

The Blue Earth County Attorneys Office said Jordi has not waived his extradition and will continue to be held in Minnesota until a governors rendition warrant is obtained.

After allegedly killing his father, Joshua Jordi returned to Mankato, MN where he is a student at Minnesota State University. A TBI investigation in connection with the White County Sheriff’s Department tied Joshua Jordi to his father’s death.

Minnesota law enforcement arrested Jordi and he’s been held since at the Blue Earth County Jail.

Reports suggest the father and son estranged, but Joshua Jordi had been named as beneficiary in a life insurance policy of his father’s.
