Jingle Bell Shop Returning To White County

The Sparta-White County Chamber of Commerce offering residents extra incentives to shop local businesses during the Christmas holidays.

Chamber of Commerce Information and Tourism Specialist Mindy Copeland said “Jingle Bell Shop” features a punch card that residents can pick up at the Chamber or at 41 participating businesses. Copeland then said that customers would get a punch on their card for every $10 spent at any of the participating businesses.

“We wanted to promote business locally here in Sparta,” Copeland said. “So get foot traffic into all of our businesses here and really just shop small and shop local. We just wanted to help out our businesses here in Sparta.”

Copeland said it has been a great community event as it is important to support local businesses as it boosts the local economy. Residents can already pick up a punch card. Punches start Friday and continue through December 16.

“We support our businesses to keep everything going and help the economy,” Copeland said. “You know instead of shopping online or out of town.”

Copeland said once a card has been punched 10 times it can be turned in and a prize will be awarded on December 17th. Copeland the participating businesses have donated a variety of prizes for the event.

“Each participating business will be donating anything from gift cards to gift baskets,” Copeland said. “It is business-driven. There is no certain amount. They are going to be donating prizes and I’ll be starting to pick those up next week, so we will be starting to list those prizes next week as they get turned in.”

Copeland said residents are allowed to submit more than one card. Copeland said in year two of the event the chamber has already seen more interest in the event. For more information about the event call the Sparta-White County Chamber of Commerce at (931) 836-3552.
