JCSD Public Service Videos Gaining Fans

Folks are watching the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page to see what the newest video is.

Sgt. Chris Carter creates them using Snapchat filters. The videos are public service announcements, warning residents about a variety of topics. The most recent deals with “catfishing” and not giving out too much information online.

“We’ve had a good response,” Carter said. “We’re a small county, when I see people out, they ask when the next video is coming out, you’re doing a good job, keep ’em coming.”

The videos are pretty funny and he said that’s what connects with residents.

“If nothing else, they’re watching to get a laugh out of it, we’re hoping to get the message across as well,” Carter said.

As of Wednesday afternoon, the catfishing video has nearly 4,000 views.
