Jackson County deputies arrested a man wanted in Sumner County Saturday.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department reports authorities found a man laying along a bank near McCoinsville Road and Black Field Lane.

The man originally identified himself as Daniel Martin before a check by Jackson County 911 revealed his real identity as Daniel Shivers.

A records check revealed Shivers was wanted by the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office. Shivers then fought with deputies during a pat-down before he was taken to the ground.

JCSD reports Shivers then grabbed a handgun hidden in his waistband before authorities took the weapon, tased Shivers, and placed him in handcuffs. The handgun had previously been reported stolen from Putnam County.

Shivers faces multiple charges including two counts aggravated assault, resisting arrest, criminal impersonation, and felony theft by possession of stolen property. His bond was set at $15,000. JCSD said additional narcotics charges could be added pending confirmation from the TBI Crime Lab.
