Jamestown Splash Pad Completion Project For Second Week Of June

The completion of Jamestown’s new splash pad was pushed back by a few weeks due to supply chain issues.

Parks and Recreation Superintendant Steve McCoy said crews were having trouble getting one of the components needed to take the next step. McCoy said they hope that this will be the last delay before the project’s completion.

“They were supposed to be here either this week or the first of next week to do the painting and then we had some electrical work,” McCoy said. “And then install the components in it.”

McCoy said the new opening date for the splash pad at the Jamestown Community Center is set for the second week of June.

The splash pad will be built adjacent to the community pool located at 629 North Main Street. McCoy said the splash pad will be similar to Livingston’s with five water features that include water apparatuses and dump buckets. McCoy said the pool renovations include new tiling. The swimming area was first installed in the 1970’s.

“We’re ready for it to be in and operational,” McCoy said. “I think it’s going to be a great thing for our community.”
