The city of Jamestown plans to make a splash with a $200,000 grant awarded to the town on Monday.
The city plans to upgrade the existing city pool and add a splash pad with the funding.
“This was something Mayor Davis had on top of her priority list when she came into office in December of 2016,” City Recorder Gail Dishman said. “To update the pool and have more things for kids and adults to come and enjoy.”
Dishman said the city hopes to build a lazy river in the future. She said there is currently no timeline for the renovation and splash pad project.
“We would like to see it get done before next year’s season opens, but we will have to see,” Dishman said. “We are just really excited about receiving this.”
Jamestown will be required to fund a $200,000 match towards the total grant amount.
