Jamestown has approved a bid for its new splash pad and pool renovations.
City Recorder Gail Dishmon said this is something that the town and the board of alderman have been trying to accomplish since they were approved a TDEC grant in 2018. She said that the bid came in more than double the original estimate at some $582,000.
“They did do a motion to acknowledge and do the letter stating that we would pay the difference in the overage,” Dishmon said. “And that we would be using the ARP funding to do the balance of that.”
Dishmon said that the plans have been submitted to the state and once approved, they can begin work. She said the pool would be closed for this season to complete renovations and the splash pad.
Dishmon said that they are hopeful to have the projects completed by this fall.
