The Charles Ralph Holland Memorial Library wants recommendations from the public on how the facility could better serve Jackson County.
Library Director Melissa Dawes Gregory said they are taking surveys for ideas to start new programs and collection development. Gregory said having community input echoes their main mission.
“Well it’s just important to keep in mind who we are serving and what their needs are,” Gregory said. “Surveys are a great way for us to get the feedback we need to set the goals and to go forward with.”
The library is also taking recommendations on what technology to purchase to improve the library. Gregory said the library wants to provide adequate technology so they can help more people in the community.
“We always want to provide what our community needs,” Gregory said. “That is what we are asking for, is tell us what you need. Tell us so we can get some plans in place and get it going.”
The library will have surveys open until the end of August. Gregory said the next board meeting for the library is not until September.
“We have a committee that is working on the long-range plans,” Gregory said. “We will see what the biggest needs are and we will aim for those.”
