Jackson Kayak Needing To Hire To Meet Continued Demand

Jackson Kayak is looking to hire 11 additional employees to try and meet its order demands.

Human Resources Manager Jeff Leach said Jackson Kayak has been averaging 400-500 units per week, sometimes reaching 600 units a week. Leach said due to difficulties navigating the backlog he anticipates facility expansion.

“Right now we are hiring 11 additional employees for several roles across all three shifts,” Leach said. “Our wages range from $12 to $14.50 an hour. Employees are being guaranteed at least 40 hours or more a week.”

Leach said there is a continued need to hire employees, despite adding additional staff since the pandemic started. He said the only qualifications an applicant needs is a want to work.

“We actually also now have new team incentives,” Leach said. “Where our employees are able to receive up to 6 percent of their hourly wages of a bonus, monthly based on the hours they worked.”

Leach said that Jackson Kayak is completely sold out of units at this time and are over capacity on orders. He said additional staff will be needed when new products are launched in July or August.
