Jackson County Mayor Position Set To Be Filled Tonight

Jackson County Commissioners will hear Monday night from men and women who want to serve as county mayor during the next five months.

Commissioners will nominate residents to replace Bobby Kinnaird, who passed away last month. State law requires anyone wishing to be considered be nominated by a commissioner.

The board will first decide Monday night on how to conduct the vote before looking at nominations.

Tonight’s candidate will serve our Kinnaird’s term which ends in August.
