Jackson County Chamber of Commerce working to create maps highlighting various features of Jackson County.
Director Hope Vargas said the map serves as a great marketing tool that could boost tourism in the county. She said they hope to have the maps printed and ready to hand out by the American Made Music Festival in October.
“Of course, we’ll have a huge influx of visitors that weekend,” Vargas said. “The maps will be a great way for visitors, to help them and encourage them to stay a little longer and just to explore what Jackson County has to offer as well.”
Currently, they are collecting business owners who want to be featured. She said if you believe you have something to offer someone visiting Jackson County, you need to be on the map. The map will also include historical markers, outdoor adventures, and other unique opportunities.
She said the maps were a topic of conversation at the Southeast Tourism Society’s Marketing College this summer.
“If you believe that you have something to offer someone visiting Jackson County, then you need to be on the map,” Vargas said. “We also will include historical markers, outdoor adventures, and other unique opportunities.”
