Jackson Co. Deputies Train To Use Narcan

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department is the latest to get training on using Narcan.

The drug has become popular among first responders in recent months because it can stop an opioid overdose.

Jackson County Sheriff Marty Hinson said he scheduled two separate training classes so the majority of deputies and correctional officers could receive training in the proper use of the drug.

The state of Tennessee will soon provide Narcan to law enforcement statewide.
