The Midwest Renegades are coming to Jackson County Saturday for a benefit performance supporting the Central Fire Department.
Fire Chief Jeff Conn said the horse performers come from Indiana and will perform a free show full of stunts.
“Every bit that will be raised with this will go directly to the fire department,” Conn said. “That helps us keep our doors open. It helps us keep the lights on, train our firemen, keeps us safe and helps us better serve our community.”
Besides entertainment, the fire department will have its new fire safety trailer on site. Conn said children can walk inside and learn fire safety tips about home appliances.
“It is kind of set up like a house,” Conn said. “It has a stove. It has fire detectors. We can also smoke it up to show kids how to use a stove and how to not use it and find an exit if their house was on fire.”
Conn said the hour show begins at 11:00 a.m. at 691 Shady Lane. Conn said the owner of the Midwest Renegades recently moved to Jackson County and reached out to the fire department about the opportunity.
Conn said those who donate will also have a chance to win prizes in a raffle.
