DeKalb County residents reported structure damage following a round of severe weather Tuesday morning.
Emergency Management Agency Director Charlie Parker said strong winds caused damage to a home and barn on Adamson Branch Road in the Liberty area.
“One house pretty much had the whole porch ripped off and some roof and barn damage,” Parker said. “A few trees down primarily on our DeKalb County and Cannon County border. I think they did have some damage in Cannon County where a possible tornado touched down.”
Parker said the National Weather Service will determine if the DeKalb County damage was caused by a tornado or straight-line winds.
“I think the weather service is heading to Cannon County this morning and I think they may come over and take a look at this also,” Parker said. “It was some pretty strong winds and it was very isolated.”
Parker said the county did not receive any injury reports.
“We really had very few calls across the county,” Parker said. “The people with the house that got affected…they went into their little safe room area and were fine.”
