The McMinnville Board of Mayor and Aldermen have approved the sale of two downtown city lots for $25,000.
McMinnville-based Investment Partners LLC officially purchased the lots Tuesday evening. Investment Partners representative Bobby Kirby said the group plans to build a two story building with residential condominiums on the top floor and retail space on the bottom.
“We are excited about the project and I think it brings a little more life to downtown McMinnville, which we are seeing a lot of activity downtown now,” Kirby said. “There are people living above the storefronts in downtown McMinnville and several others that want to live downtown because we have attracted some restaurants and commercial growth in the downtown area.”
Kirby said he hopes to break ground by the middle of next year as the project still has to go before the historical zoning commission for approval.
