Investigation On Missing Livingston PD Money Nearing Completion

A State Comptroller’s investigation on missing funds from the Livingston Police Department is in the final stages.

City Attorney John Meadows said the investigation remains ongoing as additional records have been obtained by subpoena. Meadows said a timeline on a final report is unknown at this time.

“I was able to speak with one of the representatives from General (Bryant) Dunaway’s office a few weeks ago,” Meadows said. “They advise the investigation is still going on.”

Police Chief Greg Etheredge notified District Attorney General Bryant Dunaway about the missing funds in March of last year. At the time, Dunaway said several thousands of dollars were reported missing.

A joint investigation began shorty after including Dunaway’s office, the TBI and the State Comptroller’s Office. Meadows said a final report will be shared once the Comptroller’s Office completes its part.
