Injuries Reported After Vehicle Crashes Into An Apartment Building In Cookeville

Three people suffered serious injuries Friday after a vehicle they occupied crashed into an apartment building on North Maple Avenue in Cookeville.

Cookeville Police Captain Bobby Anderson said the crash happened when a 2016 Cadillac left the roadway while traveling South on North Maple Avenue.

“Due to the severe damage to the apartment building, all occupants were evacuated and the electricity and gas services were disconnected as a precaution,” Anderson said.

The driver was identified as 32-year-old John Hancock of Cookeville. The passengers were identified as 27-year-old Kurt Hanifan and 25-year-old Kole Hanifan.

There’s no word on what caused the crash, which remains under investigation at this time.
