Volunteers will get back to work Saturday in Putnam County’s Highway 70 corridor.
And your help may be more needed than ever.
“In the beginning, we had more volunteers than we had work for them to do in that moment,” Putnam County Emergency Services’ Brandon Smith said.
Smith said many families wanted some extra time to search through debris on their property before asking for volunteer help. Now, with that completed, Smith said volunteers could really be a help Saturday or Sunday.
“This is when our community can really help best in the damaged areas and help survivors clean up their property and begin to look to the future,” Smith said.
Volunteers interested in serving can visit the Putnam County Fairgrounds between 8am-4pm.
