I AM Worship Church To Honor First Responders With Dinner And Gifts

I AM Worship Church will honor first responders with gifts, food, and fellowship at a Wednesday night event.

Pastor Mark Ogletree came up with the idea for this event two years ago.

“It’s a very dangerous job and there’s a lot of trauma and tragedy,” Ogletree said. “Most of us are not tasked with that job. For those brave men and women that face it every day, the goal is that they’ll be encouraged to keep going, knowing that there are people out there that appreciate all that they do.”

The service will end at 7:16 pm, but members of the congregation as well as visiting First Responders and their families are welcome to continue the fellowship beyond that time if they choose. First Responders can register for the event through the I AM Worship Church website.

“We’re going to give them a token of our appreciation,” Ogletree said. “The message is just to keep going. Just to let them know that they’re heroes to a lot of people.”

The initial hope for the event was to show First Responders appreciation with a focus on allowing the congregation to participate and offer their own gratitude.

“The goal of our First Responders appreciation night at I AM Worship Church is to recognize, honor, and show our appreciation to all of the first responders in our community, not just the ones in our church,” Ogletree said.
