Two Crossville residents suffered injuries following a two vehicle crash in Putnam County this morning.
The accident happened on Interstate 40 westbound near mile marker 296 between Cookeville and Monterey.
Authorities have identified the injured as 66-year-old Michelle McConnell and 52-year-old Norman Parkhurst. A report form the Tennessee Highway Patrol said McConnell and Parkhurst were occupying a Honda Fit when a Jeep Commander merged into the right lane, striking their vehicle.
According to the report, McConnell’s and Parkhurst’s vehicle went off the left side of the roadway and overturned.
Authorities have identified the driver of the Jeep Commander as 51-year-old Carmen Neal, who was cited for failure to exercise due care.
Parkhurst and McConnell received treatment at Cookeville Regional and their conditions remain unknown at this time.
