Troy Human has been promoted from the Cookeville region office of the Tennessee Highway Patrol to lead the statewide THP Special Investigations Bureau.
“It’s been a long road, but it’s it’s all worth it,” Human said.
Human, promoted to captain, will help troopers statewide.
“We’re the investigative arm for all areas that are identified by the troopers, anything they might come across,” Human said. “We assist all state and local agencies and federal agencies. But we are the investigative arm primarily for the troopers, for all crimes that they identify.”
Human spent eight years with the Cookeville Police Department before moving to the Highway Patrol. He has worked across the 27 counties from Cookeville to Chattanooga. Human said he wants to bring the strong communication that exists between local law enforcement to his new statewide role.
“We’ve been fortunate to have a good working relationship with all the different departments in that area,” Human said. “And that’s one of my goals, that we can foster that same working relationship throughout the rest of the state. Certainly in this business, it’s all about networking and communication. So just look forward to trying to increase that role and garner the same support we’ve been able to garner there in the Upper Cumberland.
