Homicide Investigation Underway In Cumberland County

A homicide investigation is underway in Cumberland County after an elderly man was found dead in the Pleasant Hill Community Sunday.

Sheriff Casey Cox said authorities found 71-year-old Albin Buechel deceased inside a home on Arthur Seagraves Road.

Investigators have confirmed that the cause of death was homicide and Buechel’s body is undergoing an autopsy at the State Medical Examiner’s Office.

Sheriff Cox said investigators have identified a possible suspect, but that person’s identity cannot be released at this time.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
