Hometown Heroes – David Hickey

This week’s Hometown Hero is David Hickey. David was nominated by his daughter Brianna Hickey and  friend Patty Stults for being an amazing husband, an honored veteran and all around great guy! Here’s what Brianna and Patty had to say about David:

Brianna Hickey:

I would like to nominate my father David Hickey for Hometown Heros. My dad is a supportive Husband, caring Father of 5 adult children and loving Grandfather of 11 grandchildren. In November he will celebrate his 31 year anniversary with the TN National Guard, he is an E7 with the Supply and Services Department. In 2004 Dad served one tour in Iraq. Aside from his duties for our great country he is also a 8 year Veteran with the TN Highway Patrol assigned to White and Van Buren Counties. During his free time my Dad likes to spend time with family and friends and is a very dedicated, passionate University of TN Football fan. I hope you choose my Dad as a Hometown Hero as he is a Hero in my eyes and a Super Hero in my children’s eyes. Love, Brianna Hickey

Patty:

He’s just an all around good guy! He has served in Iraq, and still continues to serve in the National Guard. While he was serving, I gathered up a collection of Beanie Babies and sent them to him. He then took them and delivered them to the Iraqi children! He didn’t have to do that but he did. He now works for the Highway Patrol and continues to be a great person and protects others.
