HOG Rally Brings More Motorcycles To Upper Cumberland Roads

The HOG Rally doesn’t officially open until Tuesday evening, but early arrivals mean more motorcycles on the roads across the Upper Cumberland.

Cookeville Police Major Carl Sells said motorists need to be extra careful.

“We just need to be paying attention to the roadway itself and to driving, not being distracted by the stereo, the cell phone or any other device, it truly is an activity that produces a lot of injuries every year and it requires our full and utmost attention,” Sells said.

A motorcycle rider himself, Sells said he hopes the visitors will enjoy the friendly Tennessee roads.

“I am eager to see the variety of bikes in town, I’m really eager for these folks that are not familiar with our area to see what a beautiful area of the country we live in and what a pleasure it is to ride on our roadways,” Sells said.

The HOG Rally officially opens at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Holiday Inn Express on Bunker Hill Road, Cookeville.
