Crossville’s Hilltoppers Inc. To Host Job Fair At New Facility

Crossville’s Hilltoppers Incorporated is hosting a job fair Saturday at its newly-opened facility.

Hilltoppers is non-profit organization that provides services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Executive Director Jeanene Houston said she believes the organization has made a difference in the community.

“We’ve taken people from very tough, sad situations,” Houston said. “Not only with their family, but non-family members. Some of them have had tragic lives, and we’ve given them a new life where they’re happy and in the community doing things that they truly want to do.”

Houston said the organization has openings for a caregiver, CNAs, LPNs, and thrift store workers. She said that at their event this weekend, attendees can apply for open positions, get an immediate interview, as well as tour their new facility.

Houston said the new facility was built on land donated by the city. She said work was slowed because of COVID and difficulties getting materials, and have been working with clients virtually at the new location since March. Houston said they officially reopened their doors July 1st, and are finally having their open house.

Houston said the organization is important to her not only because of the work they do, but because of the friends she’s made through it in her 36 year tenure.

“Not only with the employees, but mostly with our clients,” Houston said. “I’ve known some of them as long as I’ve worked here, some of us began at the same time, and we want to make life good for all those folks who we provide services to.”

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hilltoppers’ new location at 86 Duer Court, Crossville, TN, 38555.
