The Highway 111 Deli is offering free meals to any first responders in the Upper Cumberland.
This comes after a long night of trying to restore power and mitigate weather effects on residents. Co-Manager Candice Threet said the deli saw several first responders this morning and the owner gave her the go ahead to feed them for free.
“There was one guy that we had, he worked all night, went home and had no electricity there,” Threet said. “Then came back out and worked after he rest for just a little bit. It’s a small thing that we can do for them.”
Threet said responders can even come back and get a second meal after working. She said the deli will be serving breakfast all day for any responders looking for a warm meal after working in these freezing temperatures.
“We have chocolate gravy, white gravy, biscuits,” Threet said. “Bacon, Eggs, Sausage, Tenderloin, we’ll be glad to feed you.”
The Highway 111 Deli is located at 2320 Cookeville Highway, in Livingston.
