An Overton County deputy suffered injuries after his patrol car collided with a trailer Wednesday night.
The crash happened in a construction zone near the Highway 111 and Highway 293 intersection in Rickman.
Deputy Matthew Farmer received medical treatment at Livingston Regional Hospital for non life-threatening injuries.
A Tennessee Highway Patrol crash report said 47-year-old Jeremy L. Riddle of Cookeville had entered the Highway 111 crossover to turn North after pulling out of a parking lot on the West side of the Highway. The report said Riddle’s truck was towing a trailer, which partially blocked the southbound lanes as he entered the crossover.
Officials said Deputy Farmer’s patrol car struck the trailer as he traveled southbound on Highway 111. The report said charges were pending against Riddle.
