Highlands Residential Services Hopes For Hickory Valley Sept. Move In

Highland Residential Services said they expect to begin moving residents into their Hickory Valley project by September 30.

Highland Residential’s board met this afternoon to discuss the progress of three ongoing Cookeville projects: Hickory Valley, Maple Ridge, and Red Bud Village.

Director of Operations Chris Cassetty and Executive Director Dow Harris said Hickory Valley is in the later stages of construction where mailboxes are being installed, the sewer system connected, and the insides of the units finished.

“All 48 of these apartments will lease up by September 30,” Harris said. “We have applicants in place, we have more than enough applicants in place, we have a good waiting list with above and beyond what’s to be assigned to fill these units to 100 percent capacity.”

Harris said Red Bud Village is next up in the schedule, with all finances and planning ready for construction to begin soon. He said the location has been set and crews are getting ready to begin work in the first quarter of 2024.

“Just to project out a little, we feel like, again based on what you and Dow said, we feel like with Red Bud by the time we get through some things we’ll probably be breaking ground in the spring,” Cassetty said.

Harris said Maple Ridge, a project not yet started, has all planning in place and ready to go but has to secure more funding. He said the city has granted HRS $250,000 for the development, but more specifics need to be worked out with the budget before they can begin.

Harris said he predicts the project to break ground in the fall of 2024, at which point they will work be working on finishing up Maple Ridge.
