Headlight Violation Turns Into Meth Arrest in Algood

A headlight violation resulted in Algood Police arrested a man for possessing methamphetamine.

According to a press release, police stopped James Maynord near McDonald’s early Monday morning for driving without headlights.

The officer conducted a brief weapons search of Maynord’s person which revealed stolen property from Walmart.

A Putnam County Sheriff’s deputy arrived on scene with a K9 to further search the vehicle. The K9 alerted which resulted in authorities finding nearly four grams of meth and several items of drug paraphernalia.
