Head-On Collision Sends One Person To Area Trauma Center

A head-on collision sent one person to an area trauma center in Cumberland County today.

Officials said the accident happened around 12:25 p.m. at the 700 block of Highway 70 North.

Authorities said a female occupant in one of the vehicles had to be extricated by rescue crews. A medical helicopter airlifted the unidentified woman to U.T. Medical Center and other patient received treatment at Cumberland Medical Center.

Authorities have not released specific details about the crash at this time.
